SharePay is a peer-to-peer payment solution that enables seamless money transfers within social circles. It allows users to split transactions across multiple payment methods, including debit cards, credit cards, and gift cards. Our diverse team at the Product Association fellowship, which includes a project manager, marketing specialists, software engineers, and myself as the lead product designer, worked together to bring SharePay to life. Our goal was to present a fully realized product to industry experts, demonstrating its potential and functionality.

Design Strategy
Basic Flows
Mapping Out Basic User Flows
Before starting the design process, I mapped out general user flows to ensure that all necessary screens were included. This step helped me create a comprehensive and user-friendly interface without missing any crucial elements.
✦ Planned all basic user flows before designing. ✦ Identified all necessary screens for the app. ✦ Ensured a comprehensive and intuitive user experience.
Initial Concepts
Sketches
I started the design process on my tablet, which allowed me to quickly ideate and explore various concepts. This approach made it easy to transfer designs into online tools like Figma for further development.
Design Evolution
Wireframes to High Fidelity
The design process began with wireframes and evolved into high-fidelity prototypes. This approach allowed for iterative improvements and a polished final product that meets user needs.
✦ Started with low-fidelity wireframes for initial structure. ✦ Iteratively refined designs based on feedback. ✦ Developed high-fidelity prototypes for final review.

Consistency and Cohesion
Style Guide
I created a style guide to ensure design consistency and cohesion, making it easier for the front-end developer and enhancing the user experience. This guide also streamlined the design process and ensured the UI met accessibility standards.
✦ Developed a style guide for design consistency. ✦ Facilitated collaboration with the front-end developer. ✦ Ensured UI adherence to accessibility standards.
To ensure the design met user needs, I conducted user testing and cognitive walkthroughs, identifying errors and pain points in basic user flows. Expert designers also reviewed the designs, providing feedback and spotting heuristic issues. Based on this input, several refinements were made.
✦ Changed the logo. ✦ Added more informational text for clarity. ✦ Spacing adjustments to improve usability.
Project Outcomes
Results
We presented our work to an industry panel, receiving positive feedback and securing 2nd place in the fellowship. User satisfaction with the final product was high, and the experience provided valuable insights and growth.
✦ User Testing: Highlighted the critical role of user interviews in designing financial products. Recognized the value of early user feedback and wished for more time to conduct additional tests. ✦ Skill Development: Expanded skills by venturing outside my comfort zone, including iconography and motion design, enhancing both the final product and personal growth. ✦ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Benefited from diverse perspectives by working with software engineers, marketers, project managers, and designers, enriching the design process and improving outcomes.
