CuraJOY is a wellness hub that provides effective and continuous wellness support for diverse groups of people. It combines behavioral therapy, healthcare, and AI to foster growth and genuine relationships because wellness is interconnected.
Users can create “quests” through the app aimed to help them reach their wellness goals. Our job was to improve the existing designs for the wellness activities that make up these quests.
When my team came on the project we quickly realized that one of the main areas that needed addressing was more user research. We did a quick holistic review of the pages and made adjustments accordingly.
We drew upon what research had already been done however UX research was limited so we knew this was one of the key things we would need remedy to make these activities the best they could be. Secondary research from industry reports, competitor analysis and academic review was used to supplement this lack of research.
Our first designs underwent user walkthroughs for each individual activity. We also included a small survey at the end of the walkthrough to gage if curaJOY was meeting its overall brand goals, if there were suggestions from the testers, and in general gain more knowledge over how the testered enjoyed their experience with the prototype. We processed the data and organized it into an affinity chart to see insights more clearly.
Here are the three main activity types that we redesigned and this is how their designs looked after our first irritation of testing and research.
A quick survey with multiple choice questions to help the user find more insight about themselves
Users write out their answers to the provided journal prompt
this is for wellness activities we want to assign to a user but can’t do in the app. Such as "Drink a glass of water".
